Personal Letters

 You may have heard of writing a personal letter to submit with an offer on a home purchase.  Here are some pros and cons.

Pros: (If you are a buyer) You may strike a chord with the seller and establish a personal connection that could put your offer above the others.
(If you are a seller)  You may want to know about the person buying your home, and this is a way to get a glimpse of that.  But, remember Fair Housing Laws!!

Cons: (If you are a buyer) You may go the other way and say something that turns the seller off from a personal connection!

(if you are a seller) You may open yourself up for the potential of a lawsuit, if a buyer believes that you chose to not accept their offer based on personal information that is protected by the Fair Housing Laws!
