Library Update!

Library Update

Take your library card on the road! When thinking about the benefits of having a library card, sitting in a comfy chair with a book or in front of a screen doing research may be what first comes to mind.  But a library card with Capital Area District Libraries offers much more than that, including the opportunity to experience local and state-wide attractions for reduced or free admission.  Library card holders can request a free pass to Potter Park Zoo any time of the year.  This pass provides free parking and admission to the zoo for everyone in your vehicle.  My kids and I recently enjoyed our first visit to the zoo this year and had a chance to see the   baby otters and baby hippo!  The Michigan Activity Pass (MAP) is a statewide collaborative program that includes over 400 attractions including museums, state parks, recreation areas, nature centers and more.
It’s easy to search for attractions near you, and reserving a pass takes a few simple steps.  Once you arrive at your destination you show the confirmation e-mail on your phone and that’s it!  To request a pass for the zoo, type ‘Potter Park Zoo’ into the library catalog (opac.cadl.org) and get a Michigan Activity Pass at http://www.plymouthrockets.com/michiganactivitypass/.  And you’re always welcome to contact the Dansville Library at 517-623-6511 for more information.
